Fashion & Film
Custom hair built to the brief.
Hand-anchored 100% human hair, made to spec for color, length, density, and hairline — the realism the camera and the runway demand. If the project needs it, UHC has it.
When an off-the-shelf wig won't read on camera or in person, UHC is the home for productions and creative teams. Whatever the brief calls for, there's a service in the lineup that fits.
We offer the full range of professional hair solutions under one roof — the CRLAB CNC 3D Hair System, the UHC Signature Prosthesis, the XTS Hair System for performance wear, custom wigs (pre-made or bespoke), hair toppers (daily-wear or extended-wear), and CRLAB CNC XT hair extensions.
The CRLAB CNC system uses advanced 3D technology to build a custom base shaped to the wearer's scalp, manufactured at CRLAB's facility in Bologna.
Our Signature Prosthesis is a second-scalp-like membrane hand-crafted by master artisans in Milan. Both are hand-anchored with premium unprocessed human hair, color and texture matched to the brief — fits like skin, sits flush at the hairline, behaves like hair growing from skin on camera.
For roles and shoots involving physical work (stunts, sport, dance, outdoor coverage) the XTS system offers the performance you teams look for.
Custom wigs cover one-look transformations and faster turnarounds, with bespoke variants built using 3D scalp mapping for an exact fit. Toppers add volume, length, or coverage at the part — daily-wear clip-ins for flexibility, extended-wear adhesive for security through long shoots. CRLAB CNC XT extensions add length and density, applied in under 90 minutes and secured for several weeks at a time.
We work to written briefs, swatches, mood boards, reference photos, and direct collaboration with key hair, makeup, costume, and creative leads. Pieces hold up to high-resolution close-ups, runway lighting, multi-hour shoots, and the eye of a costume designer who can spot a wig from across the room.
How It Works
Consultation & 3D Scalp Mapping
You'll meet with us to discuss your hair loss, lifestyle, and expectations. We perform a detailed scalp analysis, evaluating hair health, scalp condition, and overall hair characteristics. Precise measurements are taken to capture your scalp's exact contours. A 3D digital model is created—this becomes the blueprint for your custom base.
Hair Matching & Anchoring
Unprocessed human hair strands are individually selected to match your natural hair. Each strand is hand-anchored at the correct angle and spacing—a meticulous process that takes skill and precision.
Base Production in Italy
Your scalp replica is 3D-printed at CRLAB's facility using hypoallergenic polymer. The micro-thin base is color-matched to your scalp and optimized for comfort and security.
Styling, Education & Ongoing Care
Your completed system arrives at UHC, where it's custom-cut and styled to your preference. You can recreate your natural look or try something entirely new. The system is securely applied to your scalp. We teach you daily care, styling techniques, and maintenance routines so you feel confident and in control.
Brief & Reference
Send us the brief, the timeline, the references, and the person who'll be wearing the piece. We review the look and recommend the right service from the range — CNC, prosthesis, XTS, wig, topper, or extensions — based on the look, the wear conditions, and the schedule.
Measurement & Specification
We take detailed measurements of the wearer's scalp and document hair color, texture, density, and hairline reference. For CNC, CNC XT, and bespoke wig builds, this becomes the 3D digital model that drives the custom base.
Production
CRLAB CNC and CNC XT bases are produced at CRLAB's facility in Bologna using advanced 3D technology and hypoallergenic, biomedical-grade materials. UHC Signature Prosthesis membranes are hand-crafted by master artisans in Milan. XTS systems, custom wigs, and toppers are built or sourced and color-matched in parallel — the right service depends on the brief.
Styling & Hand-Off
The finished piece is cut and styled to the look. We hand off to your HMU department with notes, or stay on for fittings and on-set styling as needed.

Questions? We Have Answers
Can you match a specific reference image or swatch?
Yes. Bring a reference, a swatch, a screenshot, or a board. We work to spec.
Can the same person wear multiple looks on one project?
es. Multiple pieces can be built or sourced for the same wearer — different colors, lengths, or styles. On the CNC route, multiple bases can be produced from the same custom 3D model. Common for film and episodic work.
Will the piece hold up to long shoot days, heat, and movement?
Yes. Our systems are built for real-world wear — exercise, weather, water, lights — so long shoot days and runway shows are well within their range.
Can you collaborate with our hair and makeup department?
Of course. We routinely work alongside HMUs and creative leads. We can hand off the piece with detailed notes or be on site for fittings and styling.
Do you work under nondisclosure?
Yes. We've handled high-profile clients across industries for decades. Discretion is standard.
