When it comes to looking good, one of the first and most prominent things women (or men) notice is hair. As you walk through the grocery store, meet with parents on the playground, or just meet up with someone after work, you likely can tell that a guy cares about the way his hair looks. And, if he cares about his hair, chances are good he is going to be the type of person that cares about the way he dresses, the home he maintains, and much more. The bottom line is that you want to be around a guy that really cares about his hair. So, how can you tell? There are a few signs to look for.

#1: Flakes are never a problem

One of the first turnoffs for anyone is dandruff. Of course there are many reasons for this and it is not always easy to control the condition of the scalp. However, there is no doubt that a guy with a lot of flakes is one that does not care enough about his hair and scalp to get help. If you notice flakes, you may also have to wonder what types of products he uses or does not use. If you are a guy with flakes, you can talk to your stylist about the right products to treat your dry scalp and stop this from occurring.

#2: It's styled

Another way to tell if a guy takes care of his hair is by simply looking at how it looks. Does it look like he just crawled out of bed and threw on a baseball cap? Perhaps his hair is combed neatly to the side. On the other hand, he may have styled it in the mirror in the morning, actually looking at what he looks like while doing so. Of course you want a guy that cares enough about his looks to run a comb through his hair. If you are that guy with the cap, it may be time to take a few minutes before work to get your hair looking sharp.

#3: He uses product

Not all men need to use products or want to use products in their hair. In fact, many guys have it pretty easy that all they need to do is run their hands through their hair and it looks fantastic. On the other hand, a guy that is frizzy or one that has the desperate need for some conditioner is one that puts off warning signs. For men that do not use product, think twice. You may find that a pomade, some gel, and hair spray can help to give you a long lasting look.

#4: It's clean

Clean hair is not only a good sign, but it is also an indication that a guy knows how to take care of himself. What does clean hair look like? It is not greasy. It is not frizzy and tangled. It is soft to the touch and easy to run your hands through. Clean hair is not necessarily washed every day, though. Just like women, many men can benefit from letting their locks go for a few days in between washes. This can help to avoid striping the hair of natural nutrients and oils.

#5: It's trimmed

Who doesn't love a guy with long flowing hair? The problem, though, is how well he keeps it trimmed. Even if his hair extends beyond that collar, it is still neat and cared for. If, on the other hand, the band holding his hair in a ponytail is matted with hair, that is a good sign he doesn't care much about his hair after all. All that's necessary here is a trip to the stylist every few weeks for a trim and a cleanup, or for a true hair cut.

When it comes down to it, guys with great hair really stand out. If you want to be that guy that cares about his hair and impresses everyone else as a result, talk to your stylist.
